Raffaele Tiscione
Shugart's Comet
With this piece the artist set out to explore a new field of nativity art, adapting it to the recycling of everyday materials, prompted by the ever-growing problem of waste.
The keypad of a telephone switchboard is the base of a futuristic nativity scene built with various components. The artist named it "Shugart's Comet" because it recalls a comet (with a floppy disk part inside) and dedicated it to the inventor of the floppy disk, Alan Shugart.
