About us
“Presepi in Miniatura… e non solo” began in Naples in 1995 from the shared passion of Raffaele Tiscione and his wife Anna Maria Palumbo. It is a family project: the Holy Family is at the heart of every piece, and every piece is one of a kind, made and painted by hand.
Raffaele Tiscione
Born in 1949, Raffaele builds Neapolitan nativity scenes following a family tradition. Over the years he developed the theme “Nature creates the Nativity”: branches, stones, moss, shells, fruit and flowers become the setting of the Nativity. Later he began to use reclaimed materials and everyday objects too.
In 2005 he won first prize with “Tronco Cavo” at the 2nd Campi Flegrei competition in Pozzuoli, and in 2006 first prize again with “Intreccio” at the 3rd edition.
Anna Maria Palumbo (1950–2020)
Anna Maria started out painting with acrylics on wood and card to decorate her children’s parties. She then moved on to bas-relief, with Naples and its traditions as her common thread: Pulcinella, painted antique roof tiles, plaques in Neapolitan dialect, scenes of everyday life and the old trades. Her motto was “Tradition, made modern”.
